Big one tonight at Buffalo. I was checking out ubfan.com this morning and they seemed to be pumped about this game as they should be. They are still pissed at us about "Ref- gate" back on Jan. 19th.
We have to win two of our last three road games to even think about getting a bye into the MAC Tourney. Why not knock the Bulls out of contention with a huge road victory. :chair:
I just got a call from the State Highway Patrol on I-90 eastbound in Ashtabula County. Mike Robbins and Mike Foote (our two favorite referees) were caught speeding on their way to Buffalo. They are on the way, yes !!! They can't wait to get there and I can't wait for this game tonight.
GO FLASHES !!!

Before anyone goes off on this team, there are some positives from this game I want to point out.
Uhhh, yeah, there aren't any.
How many turnovers ? The way this team finishes games worries me. No heart at all.
I hope they can find a spark on Saturday. SIU might be the best team we will play all year. We will see.

What?!?!?! The first half was one big positive for Kent State. Everything seemed to fall.

This team does not know how to hold a lead and finish strong. We better work our butts off for the SI game on Saturday.

Good luck in the Bracket Buster against SIU. Help the conference get another NCAA tourney bid.

Actually, Kent led for most of the game. Totally dominated the first half. Great defense, great shooting, great put-backs. They looked scary good.
But while UB's shooters (except Battle ) were smothered in the first half, UB worked it inside for the second half- the twin tower line-up of Bortz and Idbihi played well, and the inside play opened the door for the outside shooters and UB came back.
I was surprised at Kent's poor play late in the game. There was some really poor shot selection- too many rushed 3's. One time a player passed up a wide open 3 to take a couple steps in to take a contested 2 just inside of the 3 point line. UB looked much more poised late in the game. (Having a senior point guard helps.) Would have been interesting with both Gerwig regularly in the line-up with Wawzynski, or whatever his name is. The game was over when Wawzynski fouled out.

Poor shot selection has been our main problem all your. Instead of trying to go inside and running their offense they'll throw up a bunch of junk 3's. Then they lose their confidence from behind the arc and give up open looks. UB outscored KSU by 20 the 2nd half so I consider it an ****** kicking.
