Not swimming, sorry to disappoint. Some of you on this board cannot stomach a departure from the "loyalty at all coss, blind allegiance" mentality. That is sad, as is Axeme. Nuff said on that. On to more important things.

Hoping that my trip to the MACC Center today will result in some hope that we will make a late season run. NIU is not that good so we should win big.

The football recruiting class is a joke because...

.... No linemen of consequence were signed. You win games up front on both sides. Ever head Ken Long talk about this subject, if you have not, seek out the counsel. He intimated as much to me about this class last week.

... the wide receivers are mostly under 5-11... but the QB is 6-6. Maybe take the average height amongst the group. Big quarterbacks can throw downfield but litle receivers cannot outjump the big DB's. Should have gone after a few big WR.

On to Michigan State in football and NIU in basketball.

If you'd follow the Flashes, you'd know this.

Quote:No linemen of consequence were signed

Gus Parrish would be very interested in this opinion.

Quote: the wide receivers are mostly under 5-11... but the QB is 6-6.

WR Bobb returns at 6'5 and WR Pruden returns at 6'3. I think Machen can find 'em.

There is a wide range of opinions and a fair amount of debate on this board. We just exepct people to know what they are talking about. So far, Flashy, you've not met this criteria.

"We made great improvements in team speed with this class. I feel it was a great year recruiting."
-Head Coach Doug Martin

In case you missed the point of this recruiting class it was about speed. If you outrun them, you don't need to outjump em. I happen to think we will do just fine with Machen throwing to our current crop of WR.

Lets also not forget Brian Bell and Derrick Bush at WR both have gotten valuable expereince and are positioned to only get better

You are so lame. No BIG receivers were signed THIS YEAR. The class does not include RETURNING PLAYERS. If you followed LOGIC you would know this.

Gus... One guy... You need 4 DL on the defensive side of the ball and 5 OL on offense. Unless he is 13 feet wide and weighs 1600 pounds I do havea problem with signing ONE guy.

Actually Flashy, logic would dictate that if you don't have a need you don't recruit for that need. Guess that is why Martin didn't go after your big WR or a lot of additional linemen, but went for speed instead.

Furthermore, Martin did sign more than one lineman he signed four. Maybe not enough for you, but I guess it was because he didn't see a big need this year.
