For the huge advantage you guys had in height, we pretty much could do what ever we wanted in the paint. Don’t give up so easily, Toledo has had a horrible year, and I still think anything can happen in the tournament.

gflash68. I am the opposite of you and have been suspect of JC from the get go. Prior to KSU he was outside of coaching for 2 years??
This is finally his team. The success the last 2 years came primarily with Waters and Heath's talent. He has signed numerous guys in the 6-4 -6-7 range with no real low post players.
His damn clapping reminds me of the horrible Dave Grube.
His offensive set revolves around handing off around the perimeter, which will work ok when you have shooters. But outside of Gates and maybe Edwin this team has no outside consistency. Today for example Warz was very effective in the 1st half but they forgot about him in the second.
Get ready folks the GOLDEN days are OVER!!!!!!

The bigggest problem with Kent State basketball is not coaching. The biggest problem is not heart ( although it's big.) The bigest problem across the board from Kent State, IMHO, is fair weather, whining fans. The bandwagon is like a boat rocking in the storm with all of the jumping on and off.
Two facts of life. First, we are rebuilding. It's ugly, no other way to say it. But we cancome out of this stronger than ever. To think we will forever coast atop the MAC East with 20 game seasons without a bump is naive at best. To give up on the best legacy program Kent State has ever had, want to fire a successful coach and give up on talented players because they are struggling during a transition year is just weak. For all of you who talk about how the heart and fortitude of Shaw, Huffman and Gates is lacking in someone else, find it in yourselves first. Do you think they'd respond to this program like you do? Second, it's 2005, not 1999. Gary Waters is gone. Massey is gone. Shaw is gone. Huffman is gone. Gates I is gone. Get over it.
I'm with nashville and and going to get out of here so I can enjoy my support of the Flashes. The negativity is just too much.

flashfan. Rebuilding is expected and always has to happen BUT when you have a young team that is not putting a consistent effort forward that is a huge concern that falls to to the coaching and the heart of the kids. I think the majority of us complainers would be OK with this season if they were giving it their all and playing their heart out but even the average fan can see the EFFORT and LEADERSHIP isn't there and that's main complaint and usually the 1st sign that a coach has lost the team.
Flashfan - If you want to be happy about this team and the effort than that tells me your willing to accept mediocrity. What happened to the Tradition never graduates mantra?

Guys. It hurts me to watch this team right now. The look like deer in headlights in the second half of just about every game.
Its a long season and I said it from the begining, even after The win at creighton and the win over FSU. You have to win the tournament.
since the MAC gets 0 respect from other coaches and media, the rgular season is merely a pre season for the biggest games of the year... those 3-4 tourney games in March.
Because Who cares if you win the MAC east or even the MAC outright. the MAC Champion cuts down the nets in Gund arena, not the MACC, or the convo or that barn that BG plays in....
Its one thing if they figure things out by March, its another thing if they never figure it out. So lets try and stay positive. this team can still do good things this year. If not, theres always football right???
Go Flashes.

I know it's a joke but I'm starting to feel that way. Maybe just because football has no expectations to live up to so I can't be disappointed.
I'm loosing my faith in JC. How his teams had massive collapses down the stretch that cost may have cost KSU at large bids two years in a row is beyond me. How this team is getting embarrassed the second they step into another MAC arena is beyond me. How this team manages to lose or nearly loss the biggest of leads over and over again is beyond me. How KSU players in general have lost their heart and work effort is beyond me. It's also apparently beyond the comprehension of JC too.
