The Cal State Fullerton men's basketball team has received their third commitment, a 5-10 pont guard from Kent State, for the 2006-07 class.

Marcus Crenshaw , a 5-10 point guard from Kent State (via Detroit Michigan), has told TitanCentral.com he will become a Titan during the early signing period in November.

Marcus Robinson (West Valley College) and Andrew Green (College of the Sequoias) were the other two committing to Cal State Fullerton and both are also expected to sign early.

Crenshaw, whose suitors include Maryland , St. Mary's and UNC Charlotte , said he chose CSF because of the players and the coaches.

"I know many of the players," said Crenshaw, "and Coach Burton's fast-paced offense was best suited for my game."

Crenshaw said he knows Scot Cutley (Former Kent State team-mate) and Bobby Brown real well and he got to know Frank Robinson and John Clemmons during the summer.

Crenshaw's credentials include being the leading scorer in the state of Michigan during his junior year at 29.4 points per game and in his senior year at MacKenzie HS he averaged 24 points and 11 assists.

At Kent State last season Crenshaw, like Cutley, played in all 33 games for the Golden Flashes. He averaged 15.5 minutes and 4.7 points per game. But the style of play was not to Crenshaw's liking. "They run a lot of sets and that just didn't fit my style of play."

According to coaches and scouting services Crenshaw has excellent quickness, a great pull-up jump shot, and handles and distributes the ball extremely well.

Crenshaw says he will attend a junior college in Michigan but will sit this year out, giving him three years of eligibility for the Titans.

loft, This was posted yesterday with a less straightforward headline. 03-wink It is under whaddya know I believe. Crenshaw can go somewhere and average 15-20 points while winning 15 games. But I have a feeling KSU is back in the postseason with 20 wins before CSF is.

Other than a couple of games against their big rivals like Pacific, Fullerton home games generally draw around 1,000-1,500 fans.

I hope Scott Cutlery and Marcus Crapshaw enjoy playing in that big time environment. Yawn.

Fullerton is minor league compared to Kent State and the MAC. Kent is a proven winning program in a top 10 conference. Fullerton is in the Big West which has a couple of decent teams, but overall is a notch below the MAC.
