Miami is overated by the media. They'll be in the mix, but their not going to hang with OU, SCC, and KSU at the top. I'm guessing to the two votes for MU to win the tourney are homer guys.

Do not ever unestimate Charley Coles. He is the best bench coach in the conference by far.

11 point half mean anything to anyone here?
just kidding.
I think of all the teams BG might be the most underrated. Jockitch and all.

What kind of record do you guys think you'll have this year with you schedule? I looked over Ohio's schedule and I think we will split with Kent State once again and finish 22-8 or 21-9 13-5 MAC. Without Marshall to beatup on the MAC rpi should be higher, but more difficult to rackup a high number of wins.

Kent should be right around 20 wins again if their key players stay healthy. They have extra games from an "exempt" tournament which should help pad their victory total.
If OU finishes 22-8 you'd better hope they win the MAC tournament because it's very unlikely a MAC team can get an at-large NCAA bid with that record.

Coles record vs. Tim O'Shea: 4-6, including 0-2 in the Gund. Just throwin it out there...

Charlie Coles is a fine coach, don't get me wrong, but I'm tired of the hagiography surrounding him simply, it seems, because of his age and tenure. I recall a game at the Gund two years ago against OU that he blew due to his coaching decisions. He's good, yes, but good coaches are a dime a dozen.

OUJohn,
I did a quick estimate and say 20-10, 12-6. My guesses are as I always do at the beginning of the year. Establish a home court with 0 or 1 loss and go about .500 on the road. Other than the MAC East games, I see important swing games in overall record being at NIU and at Toledo inside the MAC and at St. Mary's (all likelihood), vs. Rutgers outside the MAC. The at Syracuse game will be interesting based on KSU's recent series with Boston College.
All of this could change after 3 games, of course.
There has been long debate in another forum whether Coles gets the most out of his talent or shackles what talent he has with his system.
