I know most Kent folks are keenly tuned into basketball, but your Flashes do have a football game remaining.

And if we lose to Toledo and Miami beats Ohio, it could be an important one.

While it appears that we would hold the advantage in a three-way tie with Miami and Akron, you could render that moot with an inspiring, season-ending victory.

So here's the question - do you think your Golden Flashes can pull it together and spring the upset?

Of course, I'm hoping we beat Toledo...

Kent State football has no chance, they could not beat Akron or any other 1A program. I cannot believe we may actually go more than 500 days without a Division 1A win - how sorry is that for the Alma Mater of Lou Holtz and Jack Lambert.

Sorry that you have to count on us. I don't think we can get a complete O line yet.

Heck, we have to flip a coin to determine the winner when we scrimmage.

It will be very difficult. The hope is that since they have nothing to lose that they play very lose and just kick butt. Would be nice to have something positive to look back on till next year.

Have to excuse this long time die hard fan of the Flashes, particularily football and volleyball. It's been a miserable season for both sports, so this post is venting a lot of frustration.

That said, as the only person in attendance at last week's football game that wasn't related to a player, IMHO the team I saw that day couldn't beat the local high school team. I was at OU and saw them lose by only 3 despite six interceptions thrown (yes, 6 - 7 if you count the PAT.) I know about all the injuries, yadayadayada (and to think I was glad they got rid of the astroturf so there wouldn't be so many injuries!) But to see a team digress to the degree they have since the OU game and not only lose to Buffalo but also only score 6 points.....SIGH! No way do they beat Akron in the BlimpBowl.

But I'm not one of those "dump the coaches" or "dump the program" doom and gloom sayers, so I just have to suffer through one more week and then it's on to basketball and hope for better things next year.

Man, this is depressing. I came over here hoping to find some good banter, but there is none. This might be the perfect game for Akron to prepare for next season and start the second team! I bet the first team has been preparing for the MACC all week!
