Flashes Collide!
Looks like James Harrison was a little rough on his fellow Flash this afternoon.

Maybe it's just the Browns fan in me, but I was not thrilled about the way Harrison led with his helmet on that hit or the one that knocked Massaqoi out of the game either. His wallet will probably be a bit lighter soon.

The hit on Cribbs was helmet to helmet, but the hit that knocked out MM was clean.

Agreed, if they called every helmet to helmet hit during a game there would be a flag on every play.

True, but this madness has to stop. I watch football to see athleticism and skill. Not to see stretchers pulled out multiple times each quarter... Which is what will happen if this continues.
Violence is overrated.

RE: Flashes Collide!
I think the second hit was legal too but they give the benefit of the doubt to the "helpless receiver" as they say. My biggest fear about this is people will start to treat football like hockey. Hockey is a great game that almost disappeared because it let fighting become the show instead of the game. I'm beginning to believe that football was allowing the big hit to become the show and now they are trying to backpeddle before it's too late. Some of these hits legal or not are deliberate and they are intended to impress everybody and not just to tackle the guy. Start permanently hurting a few more guys and most people will begin to turn away. Most people do not want to see that especially when they begin to believe it is deliberate (the exaggerated hit not the hurting). Harrison could have avoided both those hits if he wanted to. The one on Cribbs was very close to if not a late hit. If Harrison wants to quit because of it let him the game will be better.

I agree Burden. Maybe I'm just "old school", or just plain old, but I'm not a fan of "show" in any sport. I'm not against football being physical, but guys are getting bigger, faster and stronger every year and injuries are becoming more and more of a factor. Just tackle the guy with your shoulder pads to the mid-section.

I just saw the (new?) TV commercial for Kent State featuring grad Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO. Now there's a guy who did KSU proud, and he didn't have to spear anyone with his helmet to do it.

Wow they got DEVO to do a commercial? They are finally trying to make the university advertise well? Man why didn't they do that while I was in school.

Anyone interested can write their own commercial and upload it.
