Conference RPI's
The men are 17th and still can go as high a 16 and as low as 20. Can you be a mid major when you are in the lower half??? By the way Kent still has the best RPI at 82 (Akron is 83) at least on Jerry Palms site.

The women are the number 12 Conference and can easily go two either way. Kent due to a weak schedule is about 140 and only the 5th best team in the league even though they are 12-3.

RE: Conference RPI's
Burden, in basketball sports media types seem to use the term "mid-major" to decribe all D I teams not in one of the six (?) "major" conferences. I've only seen the term "low major" in scouting reports. It wouldn't surprise me if the MAC is now considered "low major", or at least "low mid-major" (LMM), by those people!

All of the teams on Kent’s and Akron’s schedule that both teams are “supposed to beat” would be low-major. The best teams in the MAC (Kent included) should win most non conference games against teams from outside of the power conferences. Therefore…the MAC is a high Mid-Major in my book.

See the Horizon league here. Their top 3 teams are great but they have some real garbage. The MAC's top 4 teams are marginally down from years past but the garbage at the bottom brings the conference RPI down. We all know not all MAC schools are created equal. I think Akron, Kent, OU, and a few other would be high mid-major while a few teams are low mid-major.

RPI is fool's gold anyway because you need more than that to be in the NCAA discussion, but it sure would have been nice to have not let the CSU game get away and to have played better against UAB with the exception of a five-minute stretch.
