Good draw for Kent. This will be a tough game on little rest for the team. It is great we are on TV, but I always wish the MAC would have another team.

Perhaps not for the SMC game but I'd bet it had something to do with the total egg that was laid a couple days later at BG.

That was a full week later. The players were just too busy receiving pats on the back for their big win and hearing that Joe Lunardi and company had them in the tourney. Kind of like the 2004 team after beating Creighton that never did get it back together. 03-banghead

Also BG going 11-21 from 3-point range had a lot to do with that upset in 2008.

I would say it had more to do with the first regular season ranking in school history. After the SMC win (which I was present for) we were ranked #24. I was also at that Creighton "return" game too! Man, there was nothing like walking out of both of those places with your chest held out having won in those environments.

Something tells me that Kent State will have something to say about this game being played in the half-court. After made baskets....it should be on big time!

We have no chance this year because of mason, odu and vcu...really any team in virginia. We dont win games in the conference tournament, so hopefully that changes soon since we have a nice squad. The good news is we lost to jmu who you also lost to.

Yep, I live in the Philly area. I relocated here from NE Ohio in August of '09. The ODU game was the first Drexel home game I've attended. I also have tickets to the Bracketbusters and VCU games. Wish the CAA conference tourney was at the Wells Fargo Center. :)

Yeah, the Dragons have it tough, being a quality team that has to compete against the likes of VCU, ODU and George Mason. Then add in this year Hofstra and James Madison and you have quite the meat-grinder.

RE: ESPN Bracket Buster
Yes unfortunately this year is probably the strongest for the caa and we are going to eat our selves alive within conference. I think its a good thing though, because the games are always exciting, but it kills chances for multiple bids.

fallsdog, ask louisville and vcu about forcing us into their running games...oh wait they were forced to play at our pace (even though vcu won thanks to our coach getting a double technical with 15 seconds left down 1) 03-razz In a serious note though, you will be forced into a half court game, teams just have to deal with that. We are very good at getting back and forcing the halfcourt, along with getting so many rebounds to keep the other team from running. Most likely we will be coming off a loss @uncw, so we should be hungry once getting back to philly for kent. Lucky for you guys, I think the more interesting matchup between us will be the rematch in 2 years. You guys have more to gain than we do this year, even though I think both need to win their respective tournaments to have a chance. We havent won a game since 06-07 in our tournament, so I would say you have a better chance than we do this year.

I could be wrong but, didnt Stephan Curry's little brother play for Drexel before transferring to Duke? It should be an exciting game if we can play like we did in the Ball St. game. Randle Holt is the difference between us playing an average game or us at the level we should be at.

He played for Liberty, if I'm remembering correctly.

As others said it was liberty not drexel...however speaking of duke jj reddicks sister is now a dragon next year as she transferred in, sorry way off topic. Ill be back closer to the game to talk more about it, in the meantime we need to take care of cellar dweller towson tonight.

RE: ESPN Bracket Buster
So we have finished our slate of games before the bb game. Luckily for you guys we are struggling beyond belief right now, in our typical february slide. We will be coming off of a loss at uncw where we had an offensive explosion for 43 points. We are 4-2 in our past 6 but all have been brutal to watch and we are not playing well at all. Now is the best time to draw us. We still match up well with you but if you can score points, you will be fine. However your points will be in the halfcourt, that is a guarantee. For those who dont have the funds to make the trek, we do offer free video of good quality on our athletics website drexeldragons.com, however being an espnu game, I am not sure we can offer it. Tv does weird things like that to whether they can broadcast or not. I will be checking in here through friday to discuss the game if you so choose.
