I'd much rather have Greene than Bowdry. Bowdry puts up points, but he wanted no part of defending in the paint the other night.. He gives up almost as many. He'll score more than JG because he has to take up the slack for the rest of their offense.

My wife's cousin is an ass't at a D3 school and watching her try to figure out if she wants to stick with it or find a more traditional (read: much less erratic) career is interesting.

I said 4 or 5 years ago that if I was an AD at another MAC school (or for that matter, Horizon) that I would be looking to hire Senderoff as my head coach. If I were the NIU AD, I'd been developing my list now and he would be on it. Same for UIC.

IIRC, someone -- Bowdry, maybe? -- went up for a shot and it was a close call on whether Holt fouled him or tied him up. There was a brief scrum after the tie up, and that's when Holt came out looking fired up and clapping. Don't know if something was said in the scrum or what.

agree 100%. I was saying you could argue that Bowdry is as good or as valuable as greene but not better. Ever since the MAC season started Greene has turned up the defense in the post. I'd take him over just about ever big in the league the way he's playing on both sides of the ball right now.

Well we have won a few in a row and everybody is positive as can be. I love sports fans, myself included. I just hope we are talking the same way after the 4 game road trip. We all know Kent is better than the western teams( and so is Miami, BG, Buffalo, Akron and Ohio) and so far they are proving it(two to go though). Then comes round 2 of the East and the tourney. We still have a long way to go.

RE: Eastern Michigan game
I classify the road losses this way:

* Against NCAA Tournament worthy clubs (3): Cleveland St., Florida, UAB
* Without Guyton (2): Akron, Morehead St.
* Against a very good team at home (1): Buffalo

So, while I think we can safely say that Kent is likely to beat a Top 50 team on the road and that Guyton is essential for this team, I don't know what other conclusions we can draw. These 4 road games will give us a really good sense of where this club is at.

Kent has been incredibly lucky with hiring a good coach. We have always had the next guy waiting in the wings. I fear that when Geno moves on, we will not have another coach that is able to fill the shoes of the last four. I would think Senderhoff is next in line, but we may lose him before we get the chance. I do think he has a loyalty to KSU after the Indiana experience. But who knows what Joel Nielsen is thinking over how LK did it.

RE: Eastern Michigan game
Geno Ford doesn't seem as eager to "move up" as prior coaches have. I'm sure he will, eventually, if he keeps winning, and I'm pretty sure he will do just that. Even if there is no coach on the bench grommed to take his place, I would think that Kent State's reputation by now is such that a good coach can be had to step right in. The problem is that just one bad choice for a head coach could very quickly set Kent State right back to where it was before Waters was hired. As David Carducci has spelled out quite nicely on a couple of occasions, the only thing Kent State really has going for it is the coaching and the winning.

RE: Eastern Michigan game
Ford's odd move to Muskingum indicated he wants to be somewhere he can make a difference and enjoy the job. I am not sure he is a guy that is aiming to be a major conference coach just anywhere. He has also had a few recent role models in the business both at OU and KSU, and if that says anything, the grass is not always greener.
