USA vs. KSU hotels?
I'm looking for a good hotel for the South Alabama football game. Can you offer some suggestions? Any hotels within walking distance to campus and the stadium? Thanks for your time

RE: Gameday hotels?
Unfortantely there is only one motel close to the staduim. But its still not within walking distance. Most of the major hotels are a good 5-10 minute drive from the stadium. If you get one of the major hotels Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, Super 8, Days Inn, or Comfort Inn there is a back way to the staduim that will help you miss most of the traffic. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&utm_camp..._medium=ha If you follow this map you show up right at the parking lot. Its also the way the police would force you to go after the game. The Holiday Inn is the newest out of all the hotels http://www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/ke...teldetail.
If your looking for a great places to eat I would recommend Mike's Place straight down rt 43 from the hotels. Its a cant miss restaurant with a castle tower attached, a x wing fighter from star wars out front, a bus inside that you can eat in. The menu is huge and has a lot of variety everything has its own unique name. The Franklin Square Deli has the best subs in the city located in downtown. If your looking to pack down some meat then try the terminator sub which includes every type of meat on the menu and weighs over 5 lbs not sure the exact weight. Ming Ching is the best chinese restaurant in Kent. Rockne's is popular among the college kids which is casual dining.
Bars are usually packed but they are all within walking distance to each other downtown. With the main ones being Main Street Tavern, Ray's, and Mug's. At night there is Gyro Bob's food cart. He has pretty good food and is out there for most of the night.

RE: Gameday hotels?
Gyro Bob disclaimer - "Only recommended after a long night of drinking at aforementioned establishments" If you are not intoxicated enough you will likely be disgusted by the numerous health violations in that cart. But if you are sauced enough it will likely be one of the better late night munching experiences you've ever had. Prices vary. Back in the day sometimes they we $3 and sometimes $5. Really a Kent miracle that the cart has been in business for almost 20 years.
Since you are asking these questions 8 months before game day you are obviously a mature plan ahead person so i would stick with the Rays, Rocknes and Franklin Square Deli scene.

If you like burritos I HIGHLY recommend Taco Tontos in downtown Kent. It is awesome.

USA brought 350 out to Davis so I'd say 500. Ok, so maybe not "a lot" but respectable for a new program.
We play our first big away game the weekend before (NC State) so I think most will be saving up for that trip.

RE: USA vs. KSU hotels?
I would also like to point out the tickets are only $5 for the north endzone $10 for the west side and $15 for chairbacks. So if you have family or friends in the area it is cheaper then going out to the movies. Also like to add that it is $10 for parking near the staduim but there is free parking down the road with buses that shuttle to and from.

RE: USA vs. KSU hotels?
The shuttle works fairly well too so I recommend it unless you want to be in the official tailgating areas.
