Kent State @ Miami University
It would seem that both teams are "due" for a loss. With that in mind I am glad that Miami found a way to beat Toledo on Saturday night. It is comforting to know that two of Miami's last four wins have been two point wins over the Rockets and Eastern Michigan.
Of course, we have seen enough of Miami over the years, especially at their place, to not get too excited about that.

But this is why I am hopeful that Kent State will get the road win and separate from the pack on Wednesday. In the last 3 games the following Redhawks have played these minutes:

Winbush - 40-33-40.
McHenry - 33-38-27
Mavunga - 26-32-35
Roberts - 37-26-35
Williams - 27-30-36
Not all of those are too too bad, but nobody else on their roster really comes close to logging big minutes. Compare that to Kent State's last three games:
Guyton - 33-31-under 30
Sherman-33-31-under 30
Greene - 33-38-under 30
Porrini - 32-26-35

I would think this alone tells you that Kent State is going to run, run, run on Wednesday. They ought to be able to force Miami to get back on defense after missed shots and start the pressure in the backcourt early and often.
Add to those that Kent State is averaging 5+ more rebounds per game and the second half scoring is ridiculously in favor of Kent State and I am calling this one for the Blue and Gold.
Kent State 75
Miami 68
Justin Greene leads the way with 22 and Justin Manns strings together another strong night scoring 10 and grabbing 7 rebounds!

Miami was fortunate to win both of those last two games, but they did win them. This will be a tough game. Kent State can win it, obviously, but they will have to play a very good game to do so.

Kent State shouldn't change anything from the first time. Pressure, pressure and pressure some more. Guyton's return last month gave this team one more body and the depth to play four guards at a time for large stretches.

You know this is going to be a tough game for our boys. Coach Charlie will have his team ready, but I do agree with Fallsdog. We will win this game, although it will be close to the end.04-rock

Is video of this going to be available anywhere? This is one that I want to see. I think that this will be the key to the East title and #1 seed.

After last night's action a win tonight would seriously put Kent State in the driver's seat for the regular season title and number 1 seed. I get that "all roads lead to Cleveland" but that is a motto for teams that see their Conference Title hopes dwindling to a flicker. BEAT MIAMI!!!!

I note that Kent State is anywhere from a 1.5 point favorite to "even". Odd that a 2nd place team in a conference isn't favored, even if just by a half-point, in a home conference game! Clearly, college basketball betting types feel that Kent State is the best team in the conference.

Was hoping ESPN3 would stream the game, but instead we're getting that barnburner matchup of EMU at CMU.

First to 40 wins!

ESPN3 can't stream something that doesn't have video.

RE: Kent State @ Miami University
I have a feeling this is the most important game of the season. If the road trip hurts us it will be because we get upset by WMU (I really don't care what happens at Drexel) or after coming off a very sucessful road trip we lay an egg at home against Buffalo. I think one of those 2 things will happen therefore we need this win against Miami very badly. If we get it I will feel very good about our chances to win the regular season.

They need to win this one then take 3 of the next 5 conference games to seal up East. Hopefully 2 of those wins will come over Buff and Akron. Id hate to get swept by either of those teams going into the tournament.
