Sending a lesser team because they got hot for 3 games just helps guarantee NCAA losses (I know Ohio won last year but that is the exception) and less of a chance for multiple bids in the future. These conferences should send their best team. If they want to have a small tournament at the end because it's a close call (this year with the inbalance between West and East it is hard to tell who might be best eg) I could agree with that but otherwise send your best.

They were debating this subject on ESPN, 1 & 2 seeds should get bye into semis, that way they only have to win 2. Everyone knows the conf tourney are all about money. just like the bowl games. as long as the MAC is content being a one bid league and sending 3rd, 6th or 9th best team things will not change. This year esspecially there is no team head and shoulders above the rest. anyone of 5-6 team could win this thing.
