Anyone else noticing?
2000-2001 Season
- 20-9 (13-5) regular season
- 2 Senior graduating, 2 others leave
- leading rebounds, points and assists returning
- A good transfer/juco forward coming in next year(Gates)
- 13 seed
- Coach of the year, though he left

Next season= We all know 04-bow 04-cheers

This Season
- 21-10 (12-4) regular season
- 1 Senior graduating, Grimsley and 1-2 others leaving (assuming because Bradley, Jackson, Evans and Brewer all need scholarships)
- leader in rebounds, points and assists returning
- Good transfer/juco forwards coming in(Evans and Jackson)
- 13-14 seed knock on wood
- Coach of the year, would be an idiot if he left this year

Next season=.... 05-stirthepot

Any other similarities you can think of?

It’s hard not to get excited. BUT, the MAC trail of tears is littered with “can’t miss” teams who miss.

Going to be exciting next year, and the comparison to the 2001-02 team is eerie. But I’m down for “wait, watch and enjoy the ride."

Then and Now

Nate Gerwig = Justin Greene
Demetric Shaw = Mike Porrini
Eric Thomas = Eric Gaines
Andrew Mitchell = Randal Holt
Trevor Huffman = ???

Stimulated my memory
Nate Gerwig + John Edwards = Justin Greene + Henniger (if not redshirted)
Demetric Shaw = Mike Porrini
Eric Thomas = Jackson + Gaines
Andrew Mitchell = Brewer + Evans
Trevor Huffman = Holt + Barkley

Jackson is already on scholarship. So assuming Bradley and all the other newcomers are good to go next year, and no other recruits are added, then that would mean one player would be leaving.

RE: Anyone else noticing?
I would settle for Guyton and Holt becoming Youngblood and Edwin before we worry about which top seeds we are going to beat in the NCAA tournament.
