Can anyone tell me what is missing? Read the fine print and you will know. 01-wingedeagle

Well... thinking like a MAC executive: we should have been moved from the fine print to the bold. 04-cheers

I dont think they should give out anything since all teams make it in the tournament. Now if they dropped the number of participating teams then I would be all for giving the players gifts.

I can see a sweatshirt and gym bag, but how much do the players really need? Every year, there are stories about all of the gifts bowl games are allowed to give to players. Meanwhile, a family friend has to wonder if a Christmas gift is considered an act by a booster.

My two cents is that you can take care of the athletes if you want to. Most of the time it is on the cheap. Taking a guess, I would assume that most, if not all, items are donated to the conferences for distribution for the players. At the very least, some conferences were giving away Tshirts or Sweatshirts.

The MAC does give out shirts and hats to the tournament champions now that I think about it. But does a team like toledo really deserve anything just for going through the motions?

Usually, I think the gifts would be given to the teams making it to Cleveland. However, I would say yes, Toledo does deserve the gifts as well. They didn't go through the motions. Without knowing, because I didn't watch them all year, I would say they practiced hard and played to the best of their abilities. They just don't have any real talent at this point. Which is sad, but it doesn't exclude them from participation and that IMO is why they deserve them.

Either way, the fact that almost every conference in America is giving away participation gifts and the MAC isn't, IMO is just weak.
