Definitely a step up from our most recent competition. Anyone planning on going to the game?

I had considered it. I have tickets to the BG game @ BG so I think that will be my lone trip out west. Tomorrow's game is a big one. Of course, that will be said of every game from here on out. Here is the story line that I like:

On one hand there is Toledo. A program that is looking to turn the corner after consecutive years of cellar dwelling. There is tradition in that program and they no doubt want to bring it back. The talent level is on the rise but I assume they are lacking enough to make a serious run this year. The Rockets just are not very deep. The thing is, the guys they have probably realize what a win over Kent State in front of their home fans could do for the rest of this season. To Toledo this is a statement game.

On the other hand there is Kent State. There has been plenty of talk after a 3-3 start that Kent State Basketball has peaked out or is on the decline. If what we have been reading of the players is true, they have a different idea. Getting to 4-3 is just the beginning. To Kent State this is a statement game.

This is the second half we've been needing!

Not bad at all tonight. The defense was decent, the offense was very nice. BG goes down, Ball State losses again and if the Flashes beat CMU all will be right with the world.

ps- chris evans is a decent ball player

2 contants on late - Chris Evans with a nice game, and Pat Jackson in foul trouble. Count on it! Glad to have an easy road win.

Evans 23, Porrini and Greene 14. Seemed like a solid win.

It is inferior competition. However, we are putting together complete games, which we couldn't do against the weak teams in the
non-conference. Our offense is running smoother. We still need to be the boss with the rebounds. Too many loose grabs with loose balls under the backboard. We need to grab the rock, and tear it down! I like the fine tuning that we are doing. Now we need to keep working and be ready for the 4th quarter of the season.

Had some sloppy sections of the game, but it didn't matter. UT is really hurting for talent. We just overmatched them all over the place. Their guards were just bad, and ours are good.

I hate to say it, but our rebounding isn't going to get better. 20 games into the season, you are who you are. Hopefully on the nights where we play better competition than NIU/UT we will be able to overcome that, but we know what we are and where we excel. Unfortunately, rebounding isn't one of those areas.
