Let me first begin by giving a big kudos to our baseball team earning a trip to the College World Series! As my recent activity here on the boards suggests, I'm not a huge fan of basketball or baseball, but wanted to give credit where credit is due! :-)

Now as football season is fastly approaching (whoooot!) I received an email from Kent today regarding renewing my season tix. This email had a pic of coach Hazell with a Kent Helmet in the background that was golden yellow with the kent ringer logo on it! I really thought it was pretty badass!

Does anyone know if this is going to be used on gameday this year?? I'm assuming that they will keep the blue helmets for most games, but I was wondering if this helmet could perhaps be an alternate lid that we may see at some point in the 2012 season!

Just wondering if you guys have heard any gossip about this!!??

The yellow helmet is for if/when KSU makes a bowl game/MAC Championship (if memory serves right, Hazell made the decision to have it as a goal....I believe he has 1 sitting in his office, behind his chair)

Really?? I didn't know anything about this! Lets hope that this is the year we see it then right?? Now that that is settled, I would definitely be in favour of them working in some kind of alternate jersey-pants combo this year. Many disliked the highlighter unis used in the wagon wheel game in 2004, but I think variations like that are nice. Variety is the spice of life! :-)

I would love to see some sort of matte design on the helmets. Love the yellow helmets, maybe we get a chance to use them this season. I see lot's of KSU Pride building to a crescendo this year with the success of golf, bases, wrestling, etc.

I confirmed with a KSU football contact that the yellow helmets are for bowl games only.
