You Tell ‘Em Terry....
Gotta love Terry Pluto’s podcast today. He rants about anyone focused on the Gators being cheated out of a win. His points:

Florida is loaded with baseball talent. Four starters drafted in MLB 1st round- catcher number 3 player taken overall. Gators play in college baseball heaven (the SEC) with loads of resources. Ranked number 1 most of year and with CWS experience.

Paraphrasing TP's rip into to the sour grapers that we won on a bad call ( this includes a few of our conference mates 10 miles west of KSU): If Florida, with all of its talent and resources, needed an umpire call in the 9th inning to beat a team from the MAC stacked with local kids, they already lost. Florida should have been sent home on that fact alone.

Hear him starting at about 15 minutes into his podcast:

That's crap! I pulled for Akron to win the national championship a couple years ago and I'll (illfuly) do it again! Us winning a championship in baseball does tons more for the MAC's rep than winning it in soccer. SOCCER!

Just because your school is in the gutter doesn't mean you pinheads need to drag everyone down with you.

No way we we are just lucky. We are 6-2 in this tournament playing Kentucky twice, Oregon three times, purdue, Arkansas and florida. Yes we are 5-1 in one run games but we tried to give 3 of them away. We had some luck (who does not in baseball) but in all of those games if we would have lost it would not have been because we were outplayed. Our bullpen is a bit shaky and against this level of talent it is being exposed. The team wins the first 6 innings and then has to hang on. It is the make up the team.
May i remind our Akron fans our golf teams, wrestling team and gymnastic team are also incredibly lucky most years.

I didn't listen to the link, but who gives a sh!t what Akron fan thinks? There are 291 Division 1 baseball teams and after tonight we will be 1 of only 5 who has a chance to win the National Title. That in itself is probably 500x more impressive than a soccer national title. It sure as hell is more impressive than OU's sweet 16 appearance.

Akron idiots are the same group of fans that think they are going to the Big East. And that Terry Bowden is the answer to their football woes. Akron fans simply give us something to laugh at.

Pulto doesn’t call out Akron fans. They call themselves out.

We’re lucky. Yeah. Right. Lucky and good.
It’s a fluke. Yeah, yeah. 1 of 5 left is a big friggin’ fluke.
The best of all, only old people enjoy baseball. When they are all dead, the world belongs to soccer. Sure, when every kid in America grows up singing "Take Me Out to the Soccer Field......”

I don't think that is the case. I just think many of those guys are at innings thresholds. Remember we are relying on two freshmen at the back end and this is the longest season in team history.

Maybe so but I also remember the BG series where they gave away a few games. They just don't seem to have a shutdown type closer. By the way I wasn't criticizing so much as trying to explain why our games end up the way they do. Early lead and trying to hang on the last few innings. A shutdown closer would prevent that but we don't appear to have one this year. Just the way it is.

To be fair, it appears 67% of Zips fans are supporting the Flashes in their World Series run. That's much higher than I'd have expected.

Good luck today. Count me among the 67% that wish you the best and hope you bring home a championship to NE Ohio. 04-cheers

Zips should pull for us. We would not have had our success without a Zip.
