The team can still pick up a BCS win over Rutgers later in the year, who has under preformed so far despite the 2-0 record. Barely beating Tulane 24-12 and beating Howard 26-0.

I understand some of your frustration with Spencer but it has been 11 months since the guy has thrown an interception. Why are his receivers getting a free pass? Guys like Hurdle and Adeyemi who have Big 10/SEC bodies but can't combine for 50 yards in a game? I don't know what's going on there. I do know last year Spencer seeemed to psychologically look better when Tyshon Goode was in the lineup.

I have been saying this for years. If a team like Kent - in the climate we are in - is throwing the ball 40-50 times a game, we are already in trouble.

Spencer seems to be a low risk option. The is okay if we understand that we will not win because of our QB, but we can win if the other parts of the offense is clicking. I have always thought that we should be a run first team and for that reason, I felt that Martin was never going to bring us a winner. With a run oriented offense, we are really limited when the QB is not a run threat also. Can you imagine what our offense would be like with a Cribbs or Edelman running it. Until we bring in some top receivers with a strong armed, accurate QB, we will be too easily defended. For now, Spencer is what we have, and at least he is smart and makes few mistakes. We have to hope that the coaching staff can recruit the right pieces.

RE: Football 2012--Week 2: Kentucky
Well 1st and foremost, Lexington was a class town and the people were really nice! I actually by chance parked next to the Kent State bus that the AD, baseball coach and a whole bunch of other people traveled down on in. They invited me and my GF over to there area to tailgaite with them and we had an amazing time!!! Just FYI, someone from the athletic department told me we are adding LSU to our 2013 schedule (football, possibly in place of Clemson like we did with Bama last year) so any of you travelors start saving your $$, you heard it here 1st lol

Definitely was a huge disapointment how the game ended, but as of some of you point out, there were some positives to take from the loss. Was really happy to see us going toe to toe with a SEC team for the majority of the first 3 quarters, I agree with the above stated comment from the guy who was there and how he said the size & speed differences being very noticable from watching the game live To me, we (more specifically our d) just got wore out by a superior team of athletes as the game went on and that was reflected in the score as the game progressed.

Was appauled to see Cortez miss those kicks and also agree that our running game could have been utilized better by the coaches earlier on to win the TOP battle and keep our D off the field and from wearing out, which ultimately led to our late game implosion.

The fact that we went toe to toe with a SEC team on the road for more than half the game is something we can use as a motivator come Buffalo on 9/19 as well as the rest of our conference games. Would have loved to come out 2-0, but we still have a lot of football to play and still think we can have a meaningful last game of the year against OU on black friday!
