Flashes Keep Climbing In TMD's Power Rankings
It feels like the season has settled into a nice groove finally. There are four teams playing good football at the top, a bunch up in the middle and then a couple of teams looking ahead to next year. Ohio is once again on top, edging out two MAC West favorites from NIU and Toledo. The surprise to me is Kent State, which just keeps on winning.

RE: Flashes Keep Climbing In TMD's Power Rankings
This is what I don't understand about today's media. For decades KSU has been one of - if not the worst DI football organization in America. Now, they've started a season 4-1 and oh by the way they have now won eight of their last 10 and seven consecutive MAC games and yet people still don't want to give us credit. It's the weak schedule, it's the points allowed, it's the lack of production at QB.
At 4-1, the Flashes are good. Get over it.

Might be different if Ohio wasn't the current media darling. The media would be looking for a different story then.

We have been close to here before, only to collapse for the season. It is hard to become a believer with our history. The difference that I see, is that there is a new sheriff in town and he is covering the bases. This staff is different.

OU is the media darling, but if their last 2 games are indicative of who they are, they aren't that good. Struggling with UMASS and Buffalo isn't exactly an impressive accomplishment.

Agree. Kent State will give them all they can handle, maybe more than they can handle. Ohio might be the 4th best MAC team.

Around the MAC today:
http://scores.espn.go.com/college-footba...ekNumber=7
Toledo barely squeaking by, Akron giving OU more of a game than I thought they would, and Buffalo getting blown out by 42 pts are the shockers for me. BG's win is impressive, but Miami of OH has no RB or defense.

Toledo and OU are making habits out of playing down to teams. BUGS really impressing me the last two weeks. Falcons have allowed -60 rushing yards over the last six quarters.
This is definitely fun, but KSU's second half schedule is daunting.

I don't know how daunting it really is. I mean certainly we got the raw end of the deal by not getting to play UMASS. However, we don't have to play UT or NIU and the toughest game left is at home in what could be for a bid to the MAC title game. IMO, @Miami and @BG are two very winnable games. The Redhawks have shown me next to nothing and BG is not bad, but not a wrecking crew. Also, I feel like with the confidence we have right now, if we handle WMU next week, I think we might just go to NJ and hand Rutgers their first loss of the season.
I want this magic carpet ride of a season to continue, however, regardless of the outcome of the remaining games I think we can all agree that our football program is happy, healthy, and alive and kicking!

No question about it. I actually think our 2012 bowl hopes all come down to this week's game. I think if we beat Western we will go to a bowl. However, I feel like if we lose we will end up not going to the post-season.
I agree the Redskins haven't shown much but they still have Dysert and our next easy game at Yager Stadium will be one of the first.
And Akron will be no breather. They are 1-6 and will use 11/3 game as their Rose Bowl to derail us. Plus their four foot head coach promised the fan base they'd beat us.
