I mean, what could we expect in terms of finally getting press and fans? Would that win be enough to jump start the students and locals into paying to see this program? It's fun to dream like this. I don't know if we can come out of Iowa city with a "W" but I like our chances against most of the other teams we play.

Beating the Hawkeyes would be huge, no doubt about it. As much it sounds like an improved year, I'm not ready to bet we take that one. Iowa is huge on both lines, deep, and it's their home opener in front of very loud and loyal fans. We could make enough noise if we keep it relatively close ( not the 55-0 or what ever the score was the last time). Leaving Iowa without significant injuries and a better than expected showing should be enough to set the tone for the year.

Students don't pay anything to see this team; not even to ride the bus to the stadium. They will get much encouragement to show up this year...and they better.

BTW... great slogan, radioboy.

I hope the Flashes do better at Iowa than Akron did 2 years ago. We gave up like 35 points in the first *quarter*. Their OL blew open gaping holes on us and the RB's ran wild. It was probably a big nail in Lee Owens coffin. I think they really enjoy this type of home opener and Ferentz will have them ready to go. Good luck!

The question was meant to be a more general "What would beating a big program do for Kent football?"

NIU, Marshall, Miami and Toledo have all beaten BCS schools. We have not, yet.

Frankly, KSU hasn't beaten a D-1 non-conf opponent since 1987 against Kansas. As such any non-conf win is huge and I think that Rutgers get's us off of the schnide this year! I think that they have a real shot against the Scarlet Knights.

It would mean that miracles do happen. I hate to say it but I see IU 52, KSU 21. I predict this and I am still optimistic for the program.
