I saw this was posted by someone on Dave's blog as well, but haven't seen it mentioned any where else. Neither Linder, not Senderhoff said anything. Was it just the CMU announcer?

I saw it on the CMU message board.

Here is the discussion on it. Was there an altercation at the end of the bench near the Central Michigan bench? Apparently, a few Kent State players came mid-court. According to the rule posted, it says it carried an automatic suspension, but no technicals. Given that, I doubt it carries a suspension. It doesn't say who or what happened for those like me who were just following the score online.

Looks like Kent State did what was mentioned on here which was take the ball inside, and they made enough 3s to keep the middle open. Chips fans were upset by the foul disparity, but usually that is a result of shooting 27 3s.

More on the ejections.

It appears there will be no suspension if the bench guys just left the bench area and did not do anything.

RE: central michigan game
I was at work until about 8 minutes to go. From the sounds of it though it was a great comeback. When I turned it on Kent was up by 1 so I guess I missed some of the first half frustration lol. I am certainly impressed with how this team and the coaches have responded to the loss against BG and turned things around.

As far as the players leaving the bench goes I'm glad they didn't call a T. I understand that by rule maybe they should have (not that that has ever mattered to Bo). I would have hated to see something that stupid affect the out come of the game. Especially if they didn't even reach the altercation or do anything. I know if something like that helped Kent win a game I would certainly not be proud of that win nor would I feel screwed if it went against us. One thing that kinda drives me crazy about that situation though. So what if it escalates infront of CMU's bench and punches start being thrown. So the players would risk suspension if they came to the aid of a teammate who's in about a 1 on 12 fight! Doesn't seem fair.

RE: central michigan game
The foul total difference is easy to understand. They worked the perimeter and fired up jumpers and we drove the land or worked it inside out. We were quicker and more athletic, and when that combination of things happens, there is going to be a big difference in fouls. Greene just abused them inside, and they could do little but foul him.

Most serious fans know better than to think foul calls should be even on both sides. Less athletic, slower perimeter teams foul a lot more than quicker teams who take it to the hoop. CMU lost the game because of unforced turnovers--bad passes, mostly, and too much outside shooting, not challenging the defense. We put ourselves in position to get fouled almost every trip down in the second half, or created open looks outside. Some great ball movement in the last 12 minutes.

Chris gets fouled almost every time he gets into the lane, and he did a particularly good job last night of not forcing his drives and picking up offensive fouls. He kept the defenders on his side through the lane and stopped and passed when they weren't.

CMU played a pretty strong 28 minutes last night, and I can see why they lead the West. They rely too much on 3's to ever be consistent, but their guards can score.

Coach Ford (and we!) have to be very happy about last night's strong comeback win. That was a helluva 4 minute run at exactly the point we were starting to get into trouble. Watch CMU give Akron fits.

From Carducci's blog-

...Holt and Grimsley were ejected for leaving the bench.

They said they left because they thought there was a time out, and they were on their way to congratulate Greene for a great play in the corner.

Technically, the officials got the play right, though.

Because there was a possible fight situation, those guys can’t leave the bench, whether they knew what was going on or not. Key is to maintain composure and not to run out to celebrate.

There should be no risk of their being suspended.

That may have been the most impressive win of the year when you consider we were really up against the wall with a rocking Rose Arena that looked mostly full. Really impressive comeback.

Its pretty amazing when you think about how far Kent State has come this season and all the things this team has been through. The best about it is that the credit is really shared among a lot of people.

Clearly Chris Singletary has emerged as a leader if not the leader of this team. He fought back from injury and has stuffed the stat sheet with his scoring, assists and boards. He has been the go to guy at the end of close games and his hit some and missed some. He has carried the team through a couple of games and most impressive he has kept a cool head. Props to Singletary.

Justin Greene's improvement is phenominal. Imagine if he was "the same player" as last year. Greene has given Kent a true inside presence and in my opinion he can go toe to toe with any "big" in the league.

Henry - Ala is another one that like Greene, has come a long way. If your a box score guy, Henry - Ala would rarely stick out to you. But if you watch his efforts on the defensive end...on or off the ball...its contagious.

Evans fought through a rough rough slump but kept his composure. When he is on the floor you have to keep an eye on him.

I could go on and on through Coach Ford, Simpson and down the list but I think my point is clear. These guys have made it through some rough stretches and look more and more like the class of the MAC. Big one on Wednesday. Keep that one game lead heading into the final stretch of East play!

Fallsdog, the improvement has shown up in the statistics, too. After the BG disaster, Kent State was 11th in the MAC (all games) in FG%. Now, they are 2nd, and in conference-only games are 1st, with an impressive 46.5%. What was once a poor shooting team is, right now, the best in the MAC. In rebounding margin, Kent State also leads the MAC in conference-only games, while only 6th in all-games. Senderoff metioned the rebounding last night, post-game. For those, if any, who may not already know where to look:

"Kent State out-battled us tonight but I know everyone on this team is looking forward to seeing them again," Thomas said. "We are going to come out and just do the same thing we did (Saturday), but we are going to finish it this time. We won't have any loose ends. We are going to make sure we get the job done and get the job done properly."

Sounds good pal. I hope Kent plays you or any of your buddies from the MAC West in each of the tournament games the Flashes play!

CMU SUCKS - they just choked away a win against Akron. Absolutely pathetic.
