Bowling Green State University
Kent travels down the turnpike to take on 13-12 Bowling Green tonight at Anderson Arena. On the line for the Flashes is win #21, the top spot in the MAC East (for now) and an opportunity to set up a fun end of the season run.

Bowling Green has been playing well, no doubt, but this is one Kent State needs to go in a TAKE from the Falcons. I would think that Kent has the maturity and drive to take care of business. Thoughts?

RE: Bowling Green State University
This is a game we need. Plain and simple. And I realize and fully expect I will get crushed by this statement, but because of a weak year, we are not dead for an at-large bid to the NCAA tourney. Before everyone gets on their high horse about no MAC team since 1999 having gotten an at-large, do some homework on the teams they are saying could get in at the back side of the bubble. One of them is UAB, whom we beat. Another is Memphis (I live in Memphis) and the KSU profile is better than Memphis'. Better RPI, about the same record. If we can go all the way to the MAC title game before dropping another game, you never know. Either way, we need tonights game for MAC championship aspirations.

If Kent State had one more "quality" win I would be right there with you. But aside from beating UAB, the Flashes resume doesn't pass the eye test. Had Kent beaten any of the following, I may be singing a different tune: X, Pitt, USF or even Northeastern (yes Northeastern whose RPI is 70 something). But, I would sure like for you to be right man.

To be honest, if Kent beats BG tonight I am dancing in the streets because AT WORST the Flashes have set up a throwdown at the JAR on March 5th.

I think the boys will have payback on their minds tonight! We need to maintain our hold on first place from now until the end of season. For whatever reason BG seems to bring out the worst in us, but I know the team has the eye on the prize and won't let anyone get in their way.

GO FLASHES!!!

As much as anyone wants to beat Akron in its own backyard, that games is not a must win for us. We're either going to the MAC tourney as the 1 or 2 seed...not a lot of difference. And the MAC tourney is the whole ball of wax!
Let Akron feel all the pressure of a true "must win" situation for them. We already proved who we are. Let them feel the pressure!

1 or 3 seed, as the winner of the West would get the 2 seed.

Anybody find a video feed for this game anywhere? I know its not on channelsurfing and if its not on there the chances are pretty slim. I guess I probably just answered my own question.

Generally, I agree. Kent's best case scenario would be to end up in the mid-40s for RPI and, unless we are talking about a group of extremely weak bubble teams, that won't cut it for a MAC team. This team is quite good (better than I expected), so I am not disappointed, but they are likely a bit short of an auto NCAA bid.

One game at a time. Take care of BG tonight. And let's see how Akron handles Buffalo.

Check Channelsurfing after tipoff. Sometimes it has popped up then.

Maybe we could think about challenging a shot tonight. 27-17 and they are shooting 70% so far.

Geno needs to find something at halftime that will motivate the boys. If it is him needing to make an adjustment, so be it. Last year, he couldn't get win #20 in several tries. This year, he needs to not find a way to crap the MAC title down his leg. Get it done.
