All I meant is that the Akron fans believed they were getting a player that would immediatley be dominant (at least a major factor) and with Zeke being ranked as a top 50 player from HS coming in, I also figured he'd be at least a major factor. He has not been. At least to date, he's been a disappointment.
I'm not sure what Kaman's stats were his freshman year but I think they were better than Zeke's 4 pts / 4 boards per game. Kaman was not nearly as highly touted as Zeke was coming in. Kaman made great improvement from his freshman year to his junior year. I can't see Zeke making that kind of improvement. I've been wrong before. We'll see.

That's significantly better than Zeke's 4 pts / 4 boards. Zeke might some day grace an NBA roster (like Edwards did) but I sure as hell don't see him being taken with the 6th pick in the draft after his Junior year (as Kaman was). Clearly, so far, Zeke has been disappointing.

RE: GREENE MAC POW AGAIN
I checked our non conference schedule which was tougher than ever before. Didn't know he had 17 against pitt, 13 against south fla.20 against green bay,26 against wofford, 21 against w carolina.and a huge and one against morehead st kenneth faried who I think leads the country in rebounding. If he doesn't make first team all mac something is definitely wrong

I saw Faried play against OSU in the first round last year down in Dayton... He is one of the ones that got away from high-majors. I really started realizing what had happened over the off season with Greene when he took that guy on.

He also hinted that it might likely be a project they take a chance on. To me that makes sense as they have depth at most positions. Although, who can argue with a proven leader and assist guy.

What makes you think Council would transfer to Kent? He's averaging around 9 ppg as a freshman at Providence. Personally I think the best choice would be go after a raw big who can benefit from sitting for the next two years. I'm assuming that Greene, Manns, Nealy, and Henniger will be our post rotation the next two years. So after those 2 years we will be left with only Henniger, and maybe Knight, as seasoned posts. Also there will only be one Senior next year so baring transfers it might be tough to get some young posts in next years class. So it could be benficial to have a Parks type project who knows the program by then.
Another thing to consider. I've noticed a Juco guy named Carrick Felix listed on both scout and rivals as having an offer from Kent. He appears to be a big time recruit, he also has an offer from Duke. He seems like he could fill a Singltary type role. My bet is that they might want a project but if they have a shot at this guy then he's too good to pass up. The great part about Felix is he redshirted last year so he would be a 3 year Juco.
All of this is pure speculation on my part. Also I think a lot depends on which players are not going to be around next year. Right now they are one scholarship over the limit so another addition would mean two players, recruits or current players, will not be here next year.

Why go for a "project" player or a player that hasn't proven anything except that they have exceptional size? I say go the best prospect you can get to visit Kent. With the success this team has had and the possible success we could have in the next two weeks I see no reason we can't go for a solid HS player.

RE: GREENE MAC POW AGAIN
Well yeah, if you can get a really good player you do but if you can't get someone who is too good to pass up why not go for a project? Right now there dosen't look like there are many holes in next years roster. So if you can't bring in someone who will demand playing time right away then they will probably spend one maybe two years on the bench. So first you want someone who is going to be able to benefit from not playing. Second you want someone who isn't going to be upset about not getting into the rotation right away and tranfer. When I said a project I didn't mean a guy who is just big. I mean a guy who is talented but raw, like a Justin Manns type.
