Should be coming up here in a few segments...

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/player?rd=1...ign=WKNRAM

If that doesn't work, just find WKNR live feed from their website.

Only saw the tail end, but Ford was also on STO's All Bets Are Off. It will re-air around 12:45-12:50 tonight.

Did he say anything interesting or was it was the usual cliches... we need to take it one game at a time... the regular season title doesn't mean anything, we need to go Cleveland and take care of business... We owe a lot to the staff; the school and the fans, etc.

If you want to see something different...

The Ant Simpson Comedy Spot

Don't know if you caught this on Kent Wired, but the embedded video is more than just a highlight reel of the Akron game ( although there is planty of that!) Towards the end, there is post game coverage, including the celebration at the JAR and the party at the MACC.

Ant Simpson is a hoot! First he refers to Coach Ford as "the little fellow", then asks Ford if he's afraid of heights as Coach cuts down the nets. Forget Europe...Ant could go on the Comedy Hour if this basketball thing doesn't work out.

On STO, I didn't like how he complained about the tournament format with the first round being Sunday. I don't want that in the players' heads. They should not need an advantage like to beat Ohio U again.

I understand that you dont want built in excuses in the players heads but its a completely valid complaint. You play all year to get those 1-4 seeds so you obtain an advantage in that you are rested and your opponent is not. This hokey format is because no one will step up and move the womens tourney out of Cleveland.

I think it has more to do with the Cavs and money.

You do get an advantage. You don't play a game you could lose. Since the tournament has been in Cleveland, the format has been this way more than it has not.

RE: Coach Ford on WKNR 850
The whole format is kind of goofy. The womens top seed plays the second semi final tomorrow and will get less rest before the final for no reason I can figure out. It's not like womens fans (what there are of them) can't get to the arena at noon. Whoever runs the tournament really must not understand things very well. But I agree the tournament has been like that for all but 2 years and it never hurt us before. Even if the women leave don't be so sure all 12 mens teams will play at the MAC. I have gone every year to the entire tournament (except for the last two years when it lasted 8 days!!!) and you can see the excitement dying. The economy plays a role but I think the fact that Cleveland is a pro town is starting to show. Ten years of the same thing is starting to to get old. Especially when the MAC doesn't perform in the NCAA. Moving the womens tournament to Toledo (as long as the timing does not conflict with the mens) will be good if it happens. I would still be concerned about the mens tournament after that. Cavs mgt spends a ton of money on the Cavs but they will look to cut their losses on other things and the MAC tourney might be a target.
