RE: Just a question...
How do you get wrestling from woman's basketball... If your going to try to be funny your going to need to think before you type. No one here has laughed at anything you have said. All we do is shake our heads and feel bad for you.

I just Binged it (get with the times, Google-boy) and discovered that Kent State made a decision to award scholarships to women soccer players...yet not men. Why is that? You have co-ed and all-women's cheerleading...just happened to cut the one sport your rival is the unquestioned dominant force in? The one sport where the world recognizes our supreme stranglehold? Yeah...blame it on Title IX...roman numbers aren't even real by the way.

First of all, Title IX is very real. Part of what Title IX is, is having an equal number of scholarships for men and women. So when KSU started awarding scholarships in soccer for the women, it was a decision that was meant to make the numbers meet. That was also involved in the decision to drop the KSU hockey team from the CCHA. You can ramble all you want about our fear to play you in soccer, but we do not have a team. And if you truly "binged" it how come you don't know that we never had a D1 men's soccer team? It wasn't a sport that KSU "cut". Why is that so hard for you to understand? 01-wingedeagle

The better question lies within. If you are concerned with sports we play, ask why Akron can't beat KSU consistently across the board?

...said the Zips fan who roots for the Florida Gators. Why doesn't Flordia have a men's soccer team? Get off my board, you've lost all credibility.

Make it to the Elite 8, or the 2nd round atlest, then we can talk.

I think that's asking too much from someone who is obviously an idiot.

This is an extraordinarily sad example of trolling. Using Bing as an insult? Holy crap.

Our best bet is to ignore him. Like a puppy or little kid that just wants attention. Eventually he'll get bored if there's no response.

Again with the "our top revenue sports suck, but hey, we have a good soccer team," excuse.

Stop. Some of you are actually attempting a cogent debate with a Zip based upon reason and facts. It’s beyond him, and just offers false encouragement that he can hang with us on an intellectual basis.

Save your energy for a worthy cause. Don’t feed the Zips.

RE: Just a question...
I have a hunch that more people would like to bring back hockey rather than adding men's soccer at Kent. Complete speculation though. Wrestling may not be my favorite sport (especially to watch, like many sports it is probably more fun to do than to watch, I am looking at you baseball and soccer) but it is certainly not fake, at least collegiate wrestling professional wrestling is a men's soap opera.

Hate to deviate from the talk, but DC is reporting that Eric Gaines appears to have an ankle sprain, and was in a boot today at practice. Not necessarily looking good for him to play Thursday. Gaines has made some great contributions to this team, both offensively and defensively. Here's to hoping it's not serious enough to keep him out of the tournament.

Just spoke to a person in the know who thinks he will play.

RE: Just a question...
danny thats good news that he'll gut it out and probably play but as DC said, he isnt going to be near 100% and his advantages over other players are leaping ability and speed. I'm sure he'll still make positive contributions but we will really need guys like henniger, Manns and Leonard to play a little over thier heads, especially against the front lines of Buffalo, OU and maybe Miami.

Well, 20-19 is pretty freaking close for you guys to claim superiority on the Wagon Wheel. Those stats just show that both programs are pretty close in the grand scheme of things. One thing is clear to me though, there is no way that you guys can deny the superiority of Zippy over your mascot 05-nono Of course I still give major props to the Bobcat for trying to beat up Brutus. Brutus is clearly teh ghey
