I know several of you think he is a bust, but I will admit I truly believe he will still be a monster in the MAC and love that we have Manns here to matchup with him these next two years.
Akron jacks up so many 3's that (seldom going inside) that we may never know how good Zeke is. I watched their game vs Dayton on Tuesday night and was amazed at the Zips "fire away" approach. It's strange because Dambrot raves about Zeke saying Akron will be as good as "the big kid plays" and then they go out and and ignore him in their offense.
Not to defend the zips, I would never do such a thing, but for a team like Akron to have a chance to beat Dayton they have a huge day from beyond the arc. The 3 is the great equalizer.
I agree Akron needed to hit 3's but they shot 36 of them. They were playing unranked Dayton, not Duke, OSU or some other national power. On paper (and via the Vegas line) this was supposed to be a close game. You make it sound like having career 3 pt games from Akron's guards/wings was the their only chance to win. Zeke got 5 shots off (in only about 20 minutes due to foul trouble) and to me, that makes no sense. I hope they play that way when they play KSU!

If you really don't think Dayton much better than Akron, you must be looking at different papers than me.

RE: Furman Game
Sure Dayton isn't Duke but they are a lot better than Akron. If they are jacking up 3's at that rate in MAC season I will agree with you, but I'm not going to get on them for jacking up 3's against Dayton. In their first game Zeke had the most Fg attempts on the team and they attempted 20 3's. 20 is alittle high but not for an above average 3 point shooting team (not saying Akron is). All I'm saying is I wouldn't call it a trend yet. If they shoot 36 3's come MAC season then I agree with everything you say.

Better than Akron, yes. Much better, no. They've played 3 stright years and Dayton has won each by about 3-4 per game (one going into OT)
